Music

I thought that this music track would be perfect for my horror trailer because it is very scary and will keep the audience on the edge of their seat, wondering what is going to happen.
The members of the focus group all thought that the music was a good suspense builder, so i thought that in order to make my horror trailer interesting it would be good to include a scary soundtrack. The music will be playing from the beginning of the trailer to create a dramatic suspenseful thrill from the start. |
I thought that this music track would be good for my horror trailer because it will intensify the scenes that i am going to be filming.
The music is slow and mysterious so therefore the audience will constantly be drawn in. Also, slow music brings a creepy vibe to any setting for a film, so i thought that this would also be a key element for my horror trailer. The music will be included in some parts of the trailer but not all, this is because I want to create a more dramatic atmosphere in different parts of my trailer. |
Dialogue
I don't plan on using a lot of dialogue because I feel as though it would take away the suspense from the trailer and plus it's not essential for a horror trailer as the audience are going to be more focused on what is happening within the scenes rather than what is being said, so therefore I think keeping the dialogue to a minimum with to prevent the trailer being dominated by the characters having conversations. Some horror trailers, such as 'Ouija' did use a fair bit of dialogue, but this may have been because the story line of the film would be too complex to understand without the dialogue and so therefore it is needed.
My narrative isn't too complicated so therefore not much dialogue is going to be needed.
Tommy standing on his own shouting for his sister:
TOMMY DEVERAUX: 'Fliss, where are you? Fliss!'
Charlie comforting his younger brother:
CHARLIE DEVERAUX: 'Don't worry Tommy, it's going to be okay'
Jack Riley chasing the siblings:
JACK RILEY: 'You can't hide from me'
